Journey

My artistic journey began at the age of 12, when I discovered a passion for drawing realistic portraits. With dedication and practice, I honed my skills, creating lifelike representations that captured the essence of my subjects. I loved being able to capture emotions on paper.

Sharing my work on social media opened up incredible opportunities; I received overwhelming responses from admirers, including famous artists and Dutch celebrities. Their recognition boosted my confidence and led to numerous commission requests, turning my hobby into a profession. By the age of 16, the demand for my work grew so significantly that I started my own company to manage the influx of commissions. Despite the success, I felt a disconnect. My art, though praised for its realism, was always based on photographs, leaving me yearning for a deeper, more personal connection to my creations. I realized that while my portraits were technically proficient, they lacked a piece of my own soul.

Seeking to express my true self, I transitioned to working with paint on canvas, exploring abstract art. My initial works, still hinted at my portraiture roots, with eyes or half-faces peeking through layers of paint, creating a mysterious blend of realism and abstraction.

Over time, I embraced pure abstraction, focusing entirely on expressing emotions through color and form. This shift allowed me to convey my emotions and inner experiences in ways that realistic portraiture couldn't. The freedom of abstraction gave me a new voice, one that was uniquely mine.
